The Careres are an award-winning, husband/wife writing team.
Carlo was born in Naples, Italy and served as a Captain of the Carabinieri (the Italian equivalent of the FBI) for twelve years before switching to screenwriting full-time. An award-winning, published novelist in Italy and series regular on Italy’s longest-running TV show, Carlo moved to Hollywood and became a naturalized US Citizen.
Erin was born and raised in rural Minnesota before attending the University of MN, earning a B.A. in English Literature Magna Cum Laude, and the prestigious Manhattan School of Music before moving to Los Angeles, where she began writing one-woman shows and plays. During this time she supported herself as a phone psychic, a job that left her with keen insight into human behavior and a catalogue of curious characters.
Carlo and Erin have been writing together since 2016.
Their feature script, "Time Zero," was optioned by In Yo Face Filmworks in June 2022 and is in pre-production as of October, 2022.
In August 2022, they signed a shopping agreement for their award-
winning sci-fi project, "Reverse," with Citizen Skull Productions.
Among their work is "E-Ghost," acquired by Isabella Ragona ("Stranded," "Forsaken") of Moving Pictures Media to be executive produced by James Brubaker ("Chef," "Liar Liar," "Rocky III.")
Another script, "Mindgate," has producer Joel Shapiro of Bluegrass Pictures attached, with Simon West set to direct.
Meanwhile, "Reverse" is the #1 sci-fi project of the month, year, and all time on the Red List by CoverFly, from among 80K winning and placing scripts. Awards include the Final Draft Big Break Award, Outstanding Screenplays Award, Sun Valley Film Festival High Scribe Award, Filmmatic Award, Script Summit Award and more.
QUOTES:
“My heart goes with 'Reverse.' This show should be made!”
-Kevin Walsh, CEO, Scot-Free Productions, Apple+ TV, and Judge, Sun Valley Film Festival
“The best script I’ve read in years!”
-Ed Asner, RIP
“Excellent script in so many ways. Professional-level execution on the page. Full of cinematic action and human emotion. The story evolves in intriguing directions. The concept is scary, original and involving. Despite all the violence and horror elements, it also has heart -- with the main character’s family relationships grounding it all into something relatable.”
-Erik Bork, Emmy- & Golden Globe-Winner, “Band of Brothers”
