About Us

The Careres are an award-winning husband/wife writing team.

Carlo was born in Naples, Italy, and served as a Captain of the Carabinieri (the Italian equivalent of the FBI) for twelve years before switching to screenwriting full-time. An award-winning, published novelist in Italy, Carlo moved to Hollywood and became a naturalized US Citizen.

Erin, born and raised in rural Minnesota, earned a B.A. in English Literature at the University of MN, Magna Cum Laude. After moving to Los Angeles, she began writing one-woman shows and plays, before joining film forces with Carlo.

Their feature thriller, "Time Zero," starring Elizabeth Rodriguez and Eric Roberts, is in post-production and will be released in 2025.

Their script, "Reverse," is the #1 sci-fi project of all time on the Red List by CoverFly, chosen from among 100K+ contest-winning and placing scripts.
 

They were recently hired by Prime Zero - Ben Griffin to write the sci-fi feature script "Echoes of Time."

Carlo and Erin’s works have won or placed in 150+ competitions. Awards include the Final Draft Big Break Award, Austin Film Festival, Outstanding Screenplays Award, ISA Fast Track Fellowship, Sun Valley Film Festival High Scribe Award, Filmmatic Award, Script Summit Award, StoryPros Screenplay Contest and more.

Their action-thriller, "E-Ghost," is in pre-production with director Mauro Borrelli from Fotocomics Productions attached.

Their 32-minute film, “Near Death,” written and produced by them, has been licensed to: SHORTS TV, THE ROKU CHANNEL, TUBI, PLEX, CINEVERSE, FEARLESS, MOMETU, SLING TV, MOODBOX, FAWSOME, and other streaming platforms.

Another independent TV Pilot, "Spy v Spia," won and/or placed in over 40 film festivals including the Academy-qualifier LA Shorts International Film Festival, Studio City Film Festival, Chelsea Film Festival and more. Awards include "Best TV Pilot," "Best Short," "Best Actress," "Best Actor," "Best Cinematography," "Best Director," and more.
